About The Canvas Works

Function and form begin with design. We take the time and care to prepare an accurate pattern or template to insure we can create a working product to meet your needs. As true craftspeople, we are required to visualize each step of the build out process. We start by seeing the end product in our mind and then we must deconstruct each corner, section, piece and parse out the components in order to convert the product to a flat piece of paper, fabric or leather hide.

This beautifully built 1926 Danish vessel has seen a bit more ocean then most of us. Paul Gaitani entrusted us in protecting this 89-year-old craft from sun and water and help to further its legacy. Tehani was actually built by Rasmussen boatyard in Nakskov Denmark in 1926. She is a traditional spidsgatter (spidsgatter is a general term for double ender in Danish). This hand-crafted sailboat is very similar to a William Atkin's design which ......

A boat cover can mean a lot of different things from one individual to the next. The overall purpose and budget certainly play a role. As most customers’ goals are to protect their asset, we focus on building a product that becomes a good investment for an expensive asset. It is now easy to find production built covers over the Internet that might seem reasonably priced, however in todays market you certainly get what you pay for. Typically......
