Our recent customer, Jack Gross, wanted his Grady White powerboat to have a high quality enclosure to match the premier quality of his boat. He brought us his boat from Half Moon Bay and entrusted our team with designing, fabricating and installing a meticulously tailored enclosure that will serve his family for years to come. The Canvas Works provided exceptional attention to detail and uncompromising quality - just like his Grady White. We fully enclosed the cabin area with side and forward panels constructed of a rigid polycarbonate (Makrolon) allowing for increased visibility, longevity and durability.
A recent customer had a very particular design idea for a bag to stow his anchor in the forward lazarette of his new ski boat. Specifically, this customer was looking to protect the gel coat in the lazarette from being damaged by the fluke and shank of the anchor while underway. Our creative team took his ideas and turned them into a well designed, robust, protective bag with a 2” foam bottom and sides for extra padding. Along with a sleeve to cover the shank, the bag had a durable zipper for easy removal and handles for safe stowing. On top of being meticulously tailored, this bold red and black bag is also attractive. Regardless of how custom or specific your needs are, we’ve got you covered.
A recent customer wanted the most protection he could get for his sailboat. This level of protective cover required meticulous templating, design and fabrication. We listened to our customers needs and created this high functioning full boat cover. It is made from Stamoid Top Premium fabric, which offers unrivalled performance and protects your boat from sea spray, wind, bad weather and sun, filtering 100% of UV. It is resistant, durable and easy to maintain. For the best fit and function, this cover was carefully tailored throughout.

Believe it or not, we are happily busy designing and fabricating at the end of our dock. We could not be more fortunate to remain open and busy during these hard times. We are grateful for our new and returning customers but none of our many projects would be completed without our exceptional team of sewers. Meet our new and current staff.
Now is the perfect time for house projects. Turn an outdoor space, deck, patio, porch or pergola into a place you can use year-round. If you have an area already enclosed structure, we can weatherproof it with panels and windows. Working with you to design, we create beautiful, functional enclosures and covers for a variety of outdoor spaces. We are available to design, fabricate, and install your next custom enclosure.
Does your current dodger need to be replaced? If so, ask yourself these questions: Are you interested in staying warmer and dryer in severe weather? Would you like to sail with more comfort and protection? Do you want your companion-way to stay dry while you anchor? Are you sick of investing in foul weather gear? Do you prefer a strong, beautiful aesthetic dodger on your sailboat? Are you thinking of installing solar panels? Would you prefer less dirt and mold on your boat?
Happy customer! William is heading out on a solo trans-pac and wanted solar panels installed on his dodger. His criteria were very specific with his highest priority being the security of the panels. With potentially extreme weather conditions, Will wanted to make certain his panels would stay in place. Also, to ensure he could do repairs while underway, the boat is equipped with an identical back up panel. Given the attachment system we designed, Will can easily switch panels while sailing.
We are so excited at The Canvas Works to have a brand new, beautiful logo wrap on our company van. On a daily basis, we venture out to the community on land and sea to serve our customers. We meet people to assess projects, template, measure, deliver and install. Our team loves visiting all kinds of varying places in the Bay Area and beyond. We have been to wineries in Sonoma, restaurants in Fairfax, houses in Mill Valley, floating homes in Sausalito, high rises in San Francisco, museums on the Coast, sailboats on the Bay, tourist attractions on an island, and even art installations in Los Angeles.
How a new seating solution has been a game changer for paddlers with disabilities. Reflecting back on 2017, I’d like to acknowledge one of our customers who has made a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and challenged The Canvas Works to be part of a very meaningful project. That customer is Environmental Traveling Companions and Diane Poslosky, Executive Director of ETC. I remember the day Diane came to our shop for the first time in late 2015.
